At this side event, data from the 2023 Africa Organised Crime Index will provide context for detailed insights into arms trafficking prevalence and vulnerabilities.
INTERPOL will share new research on firearms trafficking in West and Central Africa, and ongoing criminal intelligence analysis in Uganda. The Institute for Security Studies (ISS) will present research findings from East Africa, specifically on the Karamoja cluster and the role of regional agreements in curbing firearms trafficking.
This event is co-hosted by the ISS, INTERPOL and Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC).
